PERÚ BALSAM
Origin: El Salvador
Known since time immemorial by locals in Central America for its great benefits, today it is only found in El Salvador, thanks to the balsam producers who have kept the tradition of its extraction alive.
We have been working on a project focused on agreements with local producers committed to sustainability in:
-
Preserving trees during the production stage, ensuring that no wounds are greater than 4 inches wide.
-
Identifying and helping young trees grow healthy and strong.
-
Boosting a nursery that currently produces more than 2,000 trees a year to ensure production for future generations.
The balsam is collected from balsamares that are on average more than 20 years old, in the departments of La Libertad and Tepecoyo, in the heart of the Cordillera del Bálsamo. The high content of cinnamein makes the balsam a highly sought-after raw material in the fragrance and pharmaceutical industries.
Traceability is 100% guaranteed, with our technical team and our local partners.
